Pastor Raphael Mataka serves as our Director over the Malawi side of the ministry and resides in Lumbadzi Malawi with his wife Grace and son Blessings. Raphael is also commissioned to serve as our Pastor at The Hamilton Chapel located on our property at The Kingdom Discipleship Center. Raphael has been serving as Director in Godbey Ministries since 2016.

Pastor Lewis Chirwa is Assistant to Director Raphael Mataka and Founder Julann Godbey. Lewis lives in Ntchisi with his wife Thokozani, sons Lawrence and Lewis, and daughter Lizzie. Lewis also serves many ministries coming into Malawi as an interpreter. Pastor Chiwra has been assisting Julann Godbey in Malawi since 2009.

Sara Kazembe volunteers as our Women’s Bible Study Director as well as our Praise and Worship Leader. Sara has one daughter; her name is Edith. Sara is also a licensed plumber and teacher of her profession and assists many ministries coming into Malawi as an interpreter.

Owen Manjawira volunteers annually to lead and teach our children at the KDC Center. He is a full-time student in Malawi and is also a Pastor and interpreter. Owen lives in Lilongwe Malawi with his wife and son.

Our guards, Thomas and Ella live on the Kingdom Discipleship Center property, they also assist Pastor Mataka in numerous projects and protect our property and our KDC children. These guys are so valuable to our ministry and we trust them to oversee many events involving our annual teams.

Zexan Mataka (brother to Raphael) and Evelyn Chauwa volunteer in assisting Raphael Mataka throughout the year as well as when we are in Malawi each year. Evelyn and Zexan are both teachers and do an outstanding job at overseeing the programs for our kids.

Julann Godbey, President and Founder of Godbey Ministries, carries teams from America annually during the summer months, the team normally stays in the country for 3 weeks. Those interested in joining GM’s teams should reach out to Julann for more information regarding upcoming trips, costs, and specifics.

Julann is married to Kenny Godbey, has 5 children, 8 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. She is the Property Manager at Complete Self Storage in Corsicana Texas and attends church at Refiner’s Fire Ministries International in Ennis and High Point Church in Corsicana Texas. Julann has been going to Malawi annually since 2009 as its her passion and desire to serve in being “About Our Father’s Business”!
